2015 Season - Week 23

2016 NFL Free Agents

We are less than a month away from Free Agency and already Chicago RB Matt Forte has announced he is out in Chicago. The Bears now need to work out what to do with WR Alshon Jeffery. Other RBs likely to be free are Buccaneer Doug Martin and Jets Chris Ivory. QBs who may be available are Sam Bradford and Kirk Cousins though the Eagles and Redskins may franchise them. Denver are likely to sign Brock Osweiler before Free Agency starts on March 15th. Others at contracts end include Ryan Fitzpatrick and Anquan Boldin. Keep an eye on who goes where as it and the draft will affect your team. Franchise Players 2016-2017 As is the norm you’ll select your Franchise player after the NFL Draft and majority of free agency as I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June. You’ll be giving up the player that you franchised two years ago though some have been cut due to injury or as they failed to live up to their owners expectations. Meanwhile franchise players becoming available include QB Drew Brees, rushers Matt Forte & Eddie Lacy and receivers Antonio Brown, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall A week is a long time in the BUMS Attached is the favourite chart of the year giving a graphical view of your position in the league table each week. Five different owners led the Premiership:- George who lead after week one, three and four; Johnnie who lead after week 2; Andy H who led from weeks 5-7, Chief who led from week 8 to 14 & week 16 and Ron who only led for two weeks, week 15 & the final week. But don’t over-react early, like Wayne last year, despite leading after week 1 (and 3 & 4) George’s injury decimated team fell to the relegation zone while Ron climbed from 10th after week 1 to win it all. At the bottom, AP remained there all year but Aaron, Craig and Daz battled over the last month to survive with Daz sadly joining AP and George in the drop zone. The Conference was dominated by Wayne who emphatically returns to the Big League, leading the table every week, while at the other end John bowed out having propped up the league since week 2. Dave G moved into a comfortable second spot by week 8 and it was left to Cheryl to finally climb into the promotion places in week 15 after Stampy had been in the top spots for 14 straight weeks. How high did you fly- how low did you go? BUMS post season dinner A table for ten has been booked at The Bountiful Cow on Monday at 6:30pm to celebrate Ron and Wayne’s successes (see presentation photos attached). If you can come but haven’t said so yet, please let me know asap. I’m sure there will be plenty to chat about.
